Amsterdam Dance Event (18-21 october), one of the things I was looking forward to this year. Unfortunately due to perfect planning by my university (thank you) I have to miss almost the entire festival this year, cause I have exams. Which kind of sucks really bad. The program looks great this year, so much to do, and so many new things to check out. Amsterdam Dance Event exists of three main events. ADE festival: which covers all the partying, ADE Playground: showcases, exhibitions, movies etc and ADE conference: the most important business platform for everyone working in the electronic music scene (their own words).
I’ll give you a little guide where you can party this coming week. Although it’s seriously difficult to choose, cause there is way too much going on at the same time. There are more than 75 venues to go to and more than 800 performances. First we start off with the movie Dutch Influence. A documentary about the succes of the Dutch dance scene worldwide. They meet up with Hollands most famous dj’s like Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and more. The movie will have it’s premiere on wednesday in Pathe Tuschinski. This will also be the official opening of ADE. The public can check this documentary from october 18 until october 21 (as long as the festival lasts). So don’t miss your chance to check it out! Since it’s way too much work to write whole stories about every party (and sometimes I’m little lazy), just click on the event and you will be redirected to more information on the party. My suggestion is that you should also visit some showcases of labels, to check out the (new) talent. Don’t forget you can go to an afterparty every day from around 06.00 til far into the afternoon. Lots of clubs are organizing these, so you don’t have to trash someone’s house. And no more whining that there is nothing to do in our favorite city. But most of all: have fun.
